The second edition of the Padel World Summit has found a new home in Barcelona, following its debut a year ago in Malaga. Held at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona, the event—organized by Fira de Barcelona and Cluster—has established itself as a key reference point for professionals in the padel industry. The Summit was an exclusively B2B event that successfully connected the production and industrial network surrounding the sport, attracting 6,062 participants.
Over three days filled with activities, the summit brought together 120 exhibiting companies from 22 countries and hosted 100 speakers across various programs. Forty percent of participants came from abroad, representing more than 80 countries, with strong presence from the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and the United States. In such a context, however, quality often matters more than quantity: it’s no coincidence that the overall sentiment among entrepreneurs and industry professionals was positive. The Investors & Business Forum facilitated over 275 business meetings. Considering the various growth prospects across countries, the event appears to have significant potential for further expansion.
“Our decision to organize the PWS in Barcelona turned out to be a complete success” said Alex Ponseti, the event’s director. “This edition represents a significant step forward, both in terms of commercial offerings and the conference program, setting the roadmap for the present and future of our sport”.
“This year’s goal was to grow on an international level and help all brands find new distributors. On the very first day alone, we had participants from 90 countries—more countries than there are federations—which shows there’s a strong desire to move forward”, Ponseti added.
“We’re thrilled with the success of an edition that sparked great interest among padel professionals worldwide”, added Mireia Álvarez, President of the International Padel Cluster and Chair of the event’s Advisory Committee. “The growth of this sport seems to know no bounds and offers countless market opportunities. Padel is not just a successful sport—it’s also an economic asset with enormous potential”.
The Padel World Summit featured eight demonstration courts set up in Pavilion 6, hosting dynamic activities and presentations by various brands. Notable brands included Babolat (celebrating its 150th anniversary), AFP, Greenset, Euronix, Padel Nuestro, Head, Joma, Munich and Playtomic.
One of the key events of the PWS, the Padel Global Conference, welcomed prominent industry figures such as Fernando Belasteguín, Matt Manasse (founder and CEO of Mcnasty Entertainment), Gabriel Krieb (founder and chairman of Taktika Equity), Michael Gradon (co-founder and CEO of Game4Padel), Pablo Carro (co-founder and CCO of Playtomic), Sergio Lewin (Managing Director of the Hexagon Cup) and Sebastian Gordon (founder of Rocket Padel).
During the panels, topics included successful strategies for club management, the future of investments in padel, and the next steps to make this sport an even more global phenomenon. Additionally, Playtomic premiered its new Global Padel Report, featuring updates on the padel industry, which will be covered extensively on Padelbiz in upcoming issues.
The Innovation Space hosted 20 startups presenting their innovative solutions across all sectors: from new technologies to improve training and performance; software for club management; gamification, match tracking, and audience engagement; cutting-edge court materials; platforms for booking various activities; tournament organization with advanced features and real-time results.
